DeSales Heights Academy in Parkersburg, West Virginia is without a doubt one of the scariest looking places I have ever been. There are many stories and legends surrounding this beautiful old building, such as the boy who mysteriously died after stealing a priest's cross and several of the nuns being laid to rest in the basement. When I began my trip there I had very high expectations but we experienced very little paranormal activity such as a door that slammed, but our pictures showed a faint image of a face in a downstairs window only a few feet from the camera and several other strange things. I would say that DeSales Heights Academy is haunted without a doubt. DeSales which has stood for 100+ yrs is scheduled to be torn down this summer. Only in West "by God" Virginia would they just level a piece of history like this.

(left)In this picture my beautiful girlfriend waits eagerly in the back yard of DeSales at dusk to take the night tour(If you notice on the second floor, in the second window from the left is where the other WV ghost hunters say that there is an apparition of a nun but it is nothing more than a broken out window and a reflection.

The picture directly to the right is a magnified portion of the picture to the far right you can barely make out what appears to be a face in the section highlighted in red and two small blue orbs are also visible directly above the face highlighted in green. (They are also visible in the unedited larger picture to the right but they are very hard to make out)

(picture to the left) We heard a strange knocking on this classroom window, so I snapped a picture and as you can see five distinct orbs showed up right next to the window. (The orbs are highlighted by the green arrows)

This is the previously beautiful, and huge marble alter in the chapel on the first floor of DeSales. Imagine what it looked like ten years ago

The picture on the left has three distinct orbs in the room at the end of the hall, the middle pictures are a magnification of the orbs in the picture to the left and a picture from a postcard from the 30's, and the picture on the right is a picture of my girlfriend in front of the front door of DeSales at night. All in all this was a great place to visit, and we had alot of fun. I am truly saddened by the fact that DeSales Heights Academy will soon be gone forever

The small picture above is the hallway in the basement where some of the nuns were supposedly laid to rest. To the left is the hallway in the attic. If you look down the hall and right below the window you can see something . I thought it was a curtain but on another picture I have of the same spot there is nothing .
