On May 12, 2006 West Virginia Ghost Hunters and the entire community lost the greatest man I have ever or will ever know. My father David was instrumental in the founding and development of this group. There are no words that I can write to share with all of you just how wonderful of a man my father was, not only to his family and friends, but every person he ever came in contact with. My father was the type of man who would actually give you the shirt off his back without questioning why or expecting anything in return. He gave me so much and I will carry his love and lessons with me in my heart until the day I see him again. He will be so missed by me, my sister, my mother, his mother, his brothers, his sister, our loyal pets, and countless other friends. As my sister said, “He has found the answers that we all seek" Included below is my father's obituary.
Sincerely and With a Heavy Heart: Brendan Stephen Skeen

Master's in business administration. He then attended John Marshall Law School, Chicago, Ill., where he
received his Juris Doctorate in June 1981. Upon graduation, he embarked on a successful 25-year law practice
in South Charleston. Along the way, he amassed an innumerable amount of friends and gained the respect of
many. Although he was a successful professional, he remained humble and down to earth. He was always willing
to make great sacrifices to help those closest to him. He could make the best of any situation with his
remarkable sense of humor. He had a passion for all things outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. His
greatest joy was derived from wading the streams and rivers of Montana and West Virginia with his best friend
and fishing companion, his son, Brendan. In his life, he held most precious the days and years spent with his
family, most especially his beloved father, Selmer V. Skeen, whom he is now with, and his children and wife who
were the center of his life and in whom he placed all his hope and plans for the future. David will truly by missed
in South Charleston and the Kanawha Valley where he volunteered and served on numerous boards and
committees.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; son, Brendan; daughter, Jenna; and loyal pets, especially his little buddy,
Rebel. He is also survived by his mother, Ramona; brothers, Thomas V. and wife, Carla, and Gary A.; and sister,
Yvette M. Parker.
A service honoring the life of David S. Skeen will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 18, at Sacred Heart
Co-Cathedral with Monsignor P. Edward Sadie as celebrant.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and at a reception following the service, all at the
